Learn the model

TIIP Trainings

The structured TIIP curriculum — courses and certification levels you work through at your own pace. Trainings are the coursework; Events are the dated cohorts, webinars, and gatherings where some of these trainings are delivered live.

The curriculum

From open registration to full certification

Every training below maps to a stage of the certification pathway. Start free at Level 0; higher levels unlock as you progress and are approved.

Level 0 · Open to all · Free

Foundations of TIIP

Eight modules plus a required end-of-level TIIP Case Formulation Sheet, reviewed by a supervisor before Level 1 is credited.

  • Foundations of TIIP & the role of the TIIP clinician
  • Assessment & conceptualization
  • The elements of the psyche — ʿaql, nafs, iḥsās, rūḥ
  • Islamic virtues in clinical practice

Prerequisite: Level 0 · admin-approved enrollment.

Level 2 · Intermediate

Applied Skills & Seminars

Advanced seminars and applied skills training that deepen the model and open entry into supervised practicum work.

  • Advanced intervention seminars across the four domains
  • Applied skills labs & live demonstrations
  • Practicum entry & supervision readiness

Prerequisite: completed Level 1.

Level 3 · Supervised Practice

Supervised Practicum

The final stage before certification: supervised clinical work logged and approved by an assigned TIIP supervisor.

  • 200 supervised practice hours
  • 10 completed cases, reviewed & approved
  • Ongoing case consultation & the Scholar Desk

Prerequisite: completed Level 2.

Beyond certification

Full Certification & the TIIP Supervisor Track

Completing Level 3 confers full clinical and consultation privileges. Certified clinicians become eligible for the Supervisor track — mentoring trainees, approving supervised hours, sitting on Level 3 panels and reviewing case formulations. Scholars join separately by invitation to answer questions on the Scholar Desk; they have access to the Level 0 and Level 1 materials but do not go through the training.

Who these trainings are for: TIIP training is intended for those who are legally and ethically permitted to practice psychotherapy or mental-health counseling in their own jurisdiction. It is not a qualification for life-coaching, imam or chaplaincy guidance, or other non-clinical roles, and it does not by itself authorize anyone to practice psychotherapy.
